Harriett Weider Regional Park was proposed for property to be dedicated to the County of Orange as part of negotiations for private development of Bosla Chica Mesa in Huntington Beach, CA. Principal, Jim Engelke led a team with a major landscape architecture firm, contracted by the County Parks Department to provide designs for the proposed park. Due to the sensitivity of the adjoining Bolsa Chica Nature Preserve wetlands and the site topography, the park's program was passive use and all proposed plantings were regional California natives. Multi-use trails criss-crossing the site, with vista overlooks and seating were major design elements. At the visitor center, a native plant demonstration garden was proposed. Unfortunately, development negotiations failed at the time and the park dedication was not completed.
